WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO WARM THE PATIENT?
A constant body temperature between 36 °C and 37,5 °C is important. The body system will take care of thermoregulation, but not when this function is shut down by anesthesia.
If the core temperature is too low, this may result in a greater risk of infection. Hypothermia may cause complications and with that increase costs.
When the operation under general anesthesia lasts more than 3 hours or the general operation lasts more than 2 hours, hypothermia is easy to occur.
CONVECTIVE WARMING SYSTEM
Convective Warming System is adaptable to most surgical cases, safe and comfortable for the patient and is a smart system for healthcare professionals.
Convective Warming Blankets are aerodynamically designed in order to deliver an even distribution of heat throughout the entire blanket via controlled diffusion. Additional features such as the size, the tuck-in flaps and the attuned blower-blanket are designed to make sure the blankets drape perfectly around your patient. It creates a cocoon of warmth, resulting in the maximal heat transfer towards the patients which improves your patient's outcome through effective patient warming.
It increases the warming capacity with at least 10% by reducing radiant heat loss. The Convective warming blankets may reduce heat loss by up to 80% in the perioperative environment. The Convective warming Blanket can be used for the postoperative phase and is an all-in-one solution to keep the patient warm during the entire perioperative period.
